NMC Revalidation

Revalidation is the new process that all nurses in the UK will need to follow to maintain their registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, the regulatory body. Taking effect from April 2016, all nurses are required to meet the requirements and revalidate every three years to renew registration and continue to practice. http://revalidation.nmc.org.uk/

 

The requirements of revalidation include:

450 practice hours, or 900 if renewing as both nurse and midwife

35 hours of CPD including 20 hours of participatory learning

Five pieces of practice-related feedback

Five written reflective accounts

E

Reflective discussions

E

Health and character declaration

E

Professional indemnity arrangements

Confirmation
